New Grinder

So yesterday I bought a new grinder at my local head shop and its a pretty standard grinder with a kief box. I love using this thing, the first time I packed a bowl with it I knew it was worth every penny. But when I grind my weed should I shake it to get all the kief into the bottom or should I just let it fall on its own? Because my friend who has the same kind shakes his but it doesnt look to me like it really gets any more kief down there. Also how full should I let the kief box get before I collect it to compress a nice little wafer of kief? Thanks for anyones help, and for anyone with no grinder BUY ONE!!!!! no more sticky fingers, easier than a baggie, and it helps me ration weed when I'm low.

i shake it, but it doesn't really make a whole bunch of difference. doesn't hurt a bit, either.

and i have no idea about the second question, though. you should probably ask LIP. he makes has from his grinder weekly (idk if he compresses it or makes bubblehash, though)
