Peat POTS or expanded PELLETS?
Pots- slice up the pot pretty well and remove the bottom if you can
Pellets- GET THAT NET OFF. The packagin claims the roots will grow through it... this is utter bullshit... I used to use those things and after seeing my plnats acting rootbound in obscenely oversized containers, I dumped a couple out and lo and behold, only a TINY umber of roots had made it out of the net. Never again. Plus I don't let anything peaty come NEAR my grow.

Yes, anything with B12 thiamine in it. Superthrive, thrivealive, or anything listed as 'transplanting solution'... helps rooting.

It's not too precise so don't worry about that one. Better to transplant a l.ittle early than let the older plants get all rootbound, especially since once the roots fill up those net things, it's a bitch getting them off with no damage.
