    An alternative to outdoor growing?

My father's girlfriend just put one of these AeroGarden things in the kitchen. It looks nifty. I was wondering if it's possible to take the pre-planted seeds out and put cannabis seeds in their place. Would this actually be a good idea for starting plants indoors throughout the Winter before I transplant them outside during Spring or Summer?

I think she would notice, lol.

But no, if you are going to put plants outdoors, start them in soil.

It's a complete hydroponic system. There's no soil involved. The seeds are planted into some kind of material that you can buy seperately. You can also take the pre-planted seeds out and replace them with cannabis seeds. The roof on the AeroGarden rises to a few feet tall so it'd be a start for the first few feet your cannabis plants would end up growing. It's nothing but oxygen, light, and water helping the seeds grow into plants. I've thought about buying one of these, sticking it in my closet with cannabis seeds implanted into the system, and starting a little crop in my closet.

It sounds like it could work.

Whatever. I know what aeroponics is.

Your post specifically said you would be putting them outside.

As for growing in your closet, I take it you live with your parents. Don't do it.

My father's girlfriend grows her own plants from time to time, but out on the balcony. I'd like to grow my own in the privacy of my closet. I was thinking about starting the plants indoors, but then eventually putting them outside. Aeroponics would probably help with the start of the process and once it got warmer outside, then I'd transplant them outside. I'll start them inside over the winter though. That's what I was trying to get at.

Okay back to what I originally said... you can't transplant from aero to soil. MAYBE possible for someone who really knows what they are doing... for a noob, survival is improbable at best. The shock is NOT good. I'm glad that at least it is approved to grow in your household.
