Here's my perspective:

Medicinally I can understand why someone would smoke everyday, all day... getting really high all the time and all that. But from my perspective, my body and mind are healthy. So, I personally have no reason to flood my mind and body with psychoactive chemicals all the time. Every once in a while its fun, but if God intended healthy people to have THC running rampant through their blood at all times, our liver or other organ would probably make it in abundance naturally. Know what I mean? Its just one of those obvious things to me. He made this plant so I can enjoy it once in a while, but similarly to wine or beer or whatever, its not something I should be constantly drowning myself in. That's just not what life intended to be like.

I smoked everyday when I was younger, and just about failed out of high school because of it. Weed has been shown to negatively effect memory and stuff like that (while your high... not necessarily afterwards). I stopped smoking and drinking all together to get my life back together. I got my grades up, got into college, and then started drinking and smoking just now and again recreationally. I might drink or smoke a couple times a week... not enough to get really fucked up, but just enough to have a good time and take the edge off.

My grades have stayed up if not gotten better. I'm a productive worker, and I'm on my way to a competitive law school in the Fall. (UNC... if anyone in the Chapel Hill/Raleigh, NC area is reading this and wants to chill sometime... let me know!)

Anyway, in my experience, drugs and alcohol are a blessing from God... but abuse or constant use of either of them are not good things. In my opinion we should balance our lives with hard work and with recreation. Too much of either is not good. I'm not intending to judge... I just want to share my personal experience and open a dialog.

God bless!
