John McDonnell is a rank outsider as the only other person running for the post of leader of the party and the next prime minister. He is opposed to the war in Iraq, he won't follow dubya into Iran for another pointless slaughter, he won't make dubya richer by spending £25bn on renewing Trident, he will kick the private companies out of the NHS and give it the highest priority.

All members of the labour party who join before the beggining of next week, will be entitled to vote, and there is a very real chance that the rank and file of the labour party will be able to oust "new labour" (old conservative).

If everyone who is as concerned about these issues joins the labour party and casts their vote we may actually end up with a prime minister who represents the real thoughts and wishes of the people. If Brown still manages to win, then a mass resignation from the party in protest should at least send a clear message to him that we will not tolerate another prime minister who is little more than dubya's poodle.

Please join, please vote, please stop the insanity.
There is to be no leadership contest. Besides the people of this country elected the labour party not the prime minister (albeit not that many :P).
