    tonights meal...

    Meh LIP, we have toad-in-the hole at MY house! 'Cept that it's made with good New England maple-smoked sausage. Coming by for lunch, are we?
    stinkyattic Reviewed by stinkyattic on . tonights meal... if you want pics ask and i'll take 'em..... otherwise i'll just describe... 2 BBQ style pork chops cooked in the oven (seared in a frying pan on each side to seal in the flavor, then stuck in the oven til almost done, pulled out, then slathered with BBQ sauce, and minced onion/garlic and cooked another few minutes...) thick creamy macaroni and cheese and brocoli-chicken rice... :thumbsup: 10 mins later and i can still taste those chops.... Rating: 5

    That sounded lovely. If i could i would. I'd love to have some of that. I havnt had toad in the hole since i was living with me parents. I should get me mum over and get to cook me one. I can never get the batter right, it never rises properly. I suck. Although one thing i'm good at is stake and meats - probably because i eat so much of it lol. And somehow i'm still not overwight, it's more muscle than fat. My 6 packs gone, but my keg is better

    Start with Yorkshire pudding, it's a bit easier... the extra fat from sausage seems to make the batter not rise quite so well... you're probably not beating your eggs long enough if there is a problem with rising. I wonder if you could beat the whites seperately as for a merengue, do the rest of the batter, and then fold it together at the last minute? Hmmm.... I will have to try tht next time I wish to clog my arteries (already not flowing particularly freely as a result of too many cheezburgers)....

    Cheers for the advice I'm going to try it on sunday. I'm laying some turf with my cousins, although we was meant to do it last week so the turf was already got, so it's going to be dead now, so it'll be 4 of us stoned out of our minds trying to lay dead turf. Ha. Should be fun. I'll be nice to get home and cook myself a lovely toad in the hold.

    LIP- Good luck, I've never tried doing the egg whites seperately, I'd like to know how it sorts out.

    Geo- Why the FUCK do you Californians always have to rub it in our faces that you have access to better fruit than we do? I'd have to pay through the nose for that avocado... if you tell me it was on a tree in your back yard I am going to have to hunt you down and kill you.

    ummm. I swear I was just eating it..really..

    I didn't buy it...I did pick it from an avocado grove last week while I was out caching. Actually, I picked 20 and now they are ready to eat...I think I will make some guacamole today, gotta go buy some tortilla chips.
    I guess we do rub it in..sorry
