usually whenever someone is holdin on to the joint/blunt/whatever you're smokin i just ask the simple question ...... "You know how to play football?" and when they answer yes(if they say no then i dont know lol) i just say "Then pass that shit" i never had anyone actually get mad when i say that, they just start laughing :jointsmile:

I feel the need to post because I see some misconceptions here. first, etiquitte is never mandatory, it is respect between smokers, and if someone shows no respect, then they are not worth your time, and must be dealt with.

Im not one for banging hammers over weed, but there are always ways of dealing with people, and they dont have to be violent. I had a guy I knew act like a weed nub, never wanted to supply weed (damn mooch), talked bad about my herb (sure, it was middies, but they wernt bad, and were cheap as hell) and possible stole a nug from me (though i had no foolproof way of prooving it). I had no desire to hang out with him, so I simply stopped returning his calls, and cut him out of my life.

now, in your case, as this was someone you just met, not someone you knew, i would have warned him once, then after that politly tell him he should go back inside. if he decided he wanted to talk shit and fight (god forbid) you had your friends with you, so it wouldnt have gotten very far. You just have to talk to people and let them know.

Let me tell you about the rudest stoner I have ever met....

I went to a party on Friday night...nothing too huge, it was pretty relaxed and low-key....and two of my friends and I went outside to smoke a blunt.

We just start when the door opens and this dude comes outside, who we sort of knew but had never really had a conversation with or anything. He's an arrogant ass who thinks he's the coolest cat around just because he's the bassist in a band (a band that sucks balls, by the way)... Anyway, he comes outside and says "I'm in".

Now, I'm a really nice guy, so I didn't tell him to fuck off like many might if someone "asked" like that. I resignedly motion for him to join the circle, and we begin smoking. Well, whenever the blunt comes to this guy, he takes 6 hits! Not only that, but he takes his sweet time between hits. We all wanted to punch him; it also just so happened that I was next in line after him.

Whenever my friend who's before him in the circle is hitting (the guy is polite and takes 2 hits) the new guy looks really impatient, like "hurry the fuck up." Worst of all....the third time the guy gets the blunt, he takes 4 hits and then just stands there, immobile, for about 20 seconds, the large spliff in his hand. So I reach for it, and he immediately snaps to attention and says "dude..." and gives me a look like I'm really rude, and then takes another 3 hits before passing.

I seriously hope this motherfucker smokes nothing but shake for the rest of his life. Anyone else have any stories like this?

I would have taken the blunt from him and knocked him the fuck out. A swift punch to the nose would do him nice... (of course i would have warned him first)

I used to smoke with a guy who was so bad for that that I'd actually load the joints so me and my wife got loads, and he got really weak shitty bits.

Also, have you ever thought of putting matchheads in it and telling hbim he can smoke the whole lot?

Okay, I'm fairly new to this [a month or two] but whats wrong with shake?

I had a weird experience yesterday. I usually smoke like small nugs packed in a bowl. Usually just one or two nugs. Yesterday, I had a nug and some shake because he broke it down a lot. When I hit the bowl, I coughed so much my eyes were watering and I couldn't hold it in. He [a very experienced smoker] turns to me and says "I bet you wanna know why you coughed like that" because I always ask a lot of questions, and he tells me because its shake, and it burns faster so more smoke gets in your lungs. Isn't that good though? More smoke?

I hate coughing. I took two hits and I was out, stoned as a motherfkr.

Edit: as for the guy, yeah, he sucks.. next time, say, "It's Puff Puff Pass, asshole. Not puff wait puff wait puff wait puff wait puff wait puff wait wait wait.... pass" :jointsmile:

Shake burns faster because as the weed pieces are very small, there is more surface area. Though you can get some monster hits from shake, I'd say its usually less potent than regular bud. Shake tends to have a lot of leaves, because leaves easily fall off buds.

I think ettiquitte is really important. But smoking a lot of someone's weed isn't only bad ettiquette, its just not showing that person any respect. If everyone had mutual respect, we wouldn't need arbitrary rules like puff puff pass.
