i know this topics been discussed thoroughly but i was just curious as to how to clone. i know you trim a branch off and leave the top leaves on etc, dip it in w/e. but i dont get the details. what do you dip it in? does it need to be in rockwool, or can you do soil immediately after dipping? someone give me a good detailed walkthrough, preferably through experience, and no, i dont wanna link. thanks much.

You buy rooting gel or powder. Some people say gel is better. All your utensils need to be clean, as in boiled or disinfected, the cut can easily mould.
You snip the plant beneath the second (or third or whatever) branch. You move it over to a bowl of water, re-snip the cut under water as slanted as possible to make a large open wound, from which the roots will come from. You do this under water to avoid air bubbles in the stem. You let it sit in water for 10 mins. Then you dip it in the gel or powder, and carefully put into rockwool. You can use weak soil, but people prefer to use a medium that has no nutrients at all and is PH neutral.
Clones do not want nutrients.

You put them in a seedling tent, and spray the insides with water. The air in the box must be kept moist. You try to not spray directly on the plants as the mould easily.

When they start to root you carefully transplant them to your intended medium, being very careful about no nutes, and careful with the light strength until they start to show signs of beginning to grow.

You should read a guide, it can be a little tricky.

I'm so tempted to throw up like 10-15 links to threads where there are VERY DETAILED instructions on cloning...from experience. Dude, from what I've seen of most of your posts, you spend most of your time begging people to give you all this information but you really haven't spent enough time doing your own research.

I'm not trying to get on you but I guess after I've seen a hundred threads asking how to clone in the last 6 months, it gets a bit annoying. This site is FULL of so much information, everyone could stop posting now and just come back for the research and learn 98% of what there is to be learned about simple indoor/outdoor MJ gardening.

Then, on top of not doing research and asking repetitive questions that have been answered before, you refuse to accept links?! So you want people to take their time to REtype everything just because you are too lazy to do a search...or click a link...read a little? C'mon, bro. That's not very cool.

Well, whatever, faithless gave you a good basic guide before I could post this, so go with that and then do whatever you want. I suggest you do some research, but if you wanna just sit back and wait for responses, you'll probably be there for a while the way this site's been D-E-A-D the last couple of weeks. Good luck.

I'm going to be cloning soon, and I've done a lot of research... but

While faithless gave a very good step-by-step tutorial above, I'm pretty sure that growers who are taking 200, or even 20, clones aren't running back and forth processing only one clone at a time. Are they????

So my question is, can you cut a number of clones from the mother, put them immediately into water and leave them in water while you cut other clones, then proceed to process the clones one at time?

Daaaammmmmnnnn - I'm gonna have to get really Zen to get over the repettitive efficiency disciplines in my mind if I have to process the clones one at a time. LOL

id love to go out and do my research fog but ive tried. before entering this site, i looked repetitively all over the web for different strategies with indoor growing and all the retarded 'main cola' growers gave the same stupid advice ranging from pruning to hydro systems. so, i figured id get a name and start asking some real growers. yes, i have searched threads and yes, i have clicked links but they all lead to the same place, a 1.2.3 guide on "how-to's" and half the time, somewhere along the line the guy says something and you just wanna stop him n ask a question, whether its about a possible substitute strategy, a money-saving question, or a where do i get that question. but with a link you cant do that.. so i do the smart thing and use the one usefull thing god gave us and that is our communication skills. im so sorry if my begging is annoying fog, but maybe i guess i just dont have the type of lifestyle that would leave me with the amount of time it would take to filter through hundreds of websites and threads to find out the exact answer im looking for when i could simply ask a friendly, experienced grower unlike yourself. so before you flip on some innocent curious nub next time, maybe you can take a sec away from your vigorous research and motonous grow scheduling and actually smoke some of that bud you worship.. but thanks for the advice, ill keep it in mind faith

Yea, this shouldn't be a problem, dude. But, overall, yes it is a bit of work, but if you cut them and leave them in the water, they should be ok. Just cut them off the plant, put them in the water, then when you have all your clones, re-cut under the water and dip and plant in your medium/cloning device. Either way, you're going to be working each one-by-one, but at least you won't be running back and forth from your plant, if that is your concern.

Could have easily found this with a search

~36 small mothers in 4.5" pots or 9 mothers in 12x12 3 gallon pots is perfect under a 400. The little ones are more portable if you have to bail on your grow.

My favorite cloning method... you need:
HEALTHY mothers that have been deprived of nitrogen for the previous week.
-Water them well
-Spray them with WiltPruf, Anti-Wilt, or a leaf shine anti-transpirant spray. Let dry.

Your MEDIA:
Rapid rooter bark grow plugs. Peat pellets are NOT a substitute as they have shitty pH.

Your clones new HOME:
-A propagation tray with a 6-8 inch high dome over it, or a clear plastic box... they need about 8" of space to avoid touching the roof of the dome and rotting.
-under this tray there is a HEAT MAT.. US $25 at a garden store. Worth every penny.
-Lit by FLOURESCENT LIGHTS

Then your TOOLS:
-A NEW UNUSED RAZOR BLADE.
-a small container to pour CLONEX GEL into. Do not dip into the bottle, it will get contaminated.
-A SPRAY BOTTLE of plain city tap water.

-Cut off a growing tip that is at least 4-5" long and has the tip with new leaves, plus at least a pair of nodes lower down the stem.
-Take your razor and slice the lower leaves off carefully.
-Now cut the end of the stem diagonally and dip it immediately into the clonex.
-Let sit for 30 seconds in Clonex, covering the nodes where you cut off a pair of leaves.
-Now stick it into the hole in the rapid rooter.
-Make sure that the nodes that you cut hte leaves off are covered. This is the first site of root growth as there are more undifferentiated cells in this region.
-Make as many clones as you like and make sure they are not crowding each other in the tray.
-Mist them again with Wilt-Pruf.
-Pour a little water in the outer tray so that there is a source of humidity under the dome.
-Put the dome on and place the whol ething on the heat mat about 10-12" from a pair of 40w tube flouros.
-Lift the lid morning and night and mist. They need moisture and fresh air.
-Enjoy! Should take less than 10 days.
