i actually do this quite a lot, and have gotten really good at it.
most of my friends smoke grits but we never have papers, so we end up smoking lots of these. just pack that shit in tight and your good. use tweezers to take the filter out, just squeeze the back of it really hard and rip it out. it comes out pretty clean and easy most of the time.
just get a piece of paper the same length as the filter, roll it into a nice tight cylinder and slide it in there.

it does burn pretty fast though so if you have papers handy you should just roll a normal J
