red stems are not uncommon and I wouldnt worry about it it could be due to temperature or may just be related to the strain, suspect you may not even notice any red stems by the time they get 2-3 weeks old
bejay Reviewed by bejay on . Brrr...It's cold outside! Hey gang, I have some 1 wk old seedling babies outside and man are their stems red..... ALL of them. I bought some Pro-Mix Organic for veggies and the Ph tested 6.2-7.0 (better than Miracle Grow) so I tend not to believe it's a soil/nutrient problem but it very well could be. Now the BIG question! Can low temperatures cause the redding of the stems? I know over-watering can cause this and N deficiency as well so I've been watching closely. I would really appreciate any nugs of wisdom. Rating: 5
