    Brrr...It's cold outside!

Hey gang, I have some 1 wk old seedling babies outside and man are their stems red..... ALL of them. I bought some Pro-Mix Organic for veggies and the Ph tested 6.2-7.0 (better than Miracle Grow) so I tend not to believe it's a soil/nutrient problem but it very well could be. Now the BIG question! Can low temperatures cause the redding of the stems? I know over-watering can cause this and N deficiency as well so I've been watching closely. I would really appreciate any nugs of wisdom. Thanks in advance guys!

red stems are not uncommon and I wouldnt worry about it it could be due to temperature or may just be related to the strain, suspect you may not even notice any red stems by the time they get 2-3 weeks old

You're absolutely correct! It's been about 3 weeks since the post and the red has almost completely dissipated to a beautiful bright green .

hey just browsing the site and saw your post about winter plants....i dont know about down there in australia but up here in california my 5 Jack Herer plants put out bigger and better buds than they did in the summer.. Put em right into the ground and and the end of the season they were all towering around 6-8 feet tall swelling with just huge girth....like an f-ing x-mas tree...so i decided to leave them in the ground. anyways i harvested then pruned and then waited all winter...the buds just seemed to come right back but just bigger/denser and tastier..
    cheers!
