    I'd have to agree with above comments we have used B&Q general purpose compost and Perlite for our mother plants but we use hydroponics to grow envirolites are very good in confined small spaces although we tend to use ours as supplamental lighting dangling down amongst the plants to get extra light to the bottom folliage but be aware they will burn leaves they touch.

    Cheers again when i woz reading the Indoor Bible By Jorge Cervantes and it recomened you should use Liquid biodegradable soap to clean your grow cupboard with before you start any growing, Dont no where to get it from. What do you gays use to clean your walls with? And wheres the best place to buy CFLs, the DIY store or a proper grow shop. Any info would be appreciated thanks.

    Having just purchased a whole bunch of cfl I found that WalMart, Home Depot and Lowe's have the best prices and availability on the following:

    6,400K (vegging) up to 26 watt;

    3,100K (Flower) up to 40 watt.

    (Those Kelvin values are just off the top of my head. They may be off by a few hundred K's.)

    To get higher wattage in the specific spectrum I wanted, I had to look online and check at the grow shop. I found a full spectrum (vegging) 125 watt for US$50 at a local grow shop. But that was the one and only decent type of cfl they had. If I want any other wattage or spectrum I would go online and order them.

    Hope this helps!

    trouble with cfl here in the uk is,they have no kelvin rating on them,at least not the ones you buy from supermarket,and they tend to come in 2 wattages,11watt and 20 watt so you need a lot to get decent light from them,with the envirolite it'd be 1 light 1 fitting 1 cable etc

    heh,the orange buckets they sell in b&q for about a quid each,make great pots with some holes drilled in and tops cut off,they can be easily shaped to fit your space
    make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot
