    Spirituality & Thought

Perhaps it is a lack of education that is responsible for my indifference towards these concepts such as soul, and spirituality. For that perhaps I should feel indifferent towards the mystery of thought...and I do. I think about Pink Floyd's "The Wall" and those lyrics "we don't need no education." It is funny he would say something like that and it would seem like sarcasm but is not that a double-standard? I'm not making points about double-standards. The point is "thought-control." I am not exactly capable of critical-thinking, partly because of my spontaneous tendencies to get out an idea before it's lost but there is something that is not right with my mental processes. Many of my thoughts are orchestrated. By that I mean I notice a subtle pattern in them. It can be difficult to separate the words that echo in your own skull or simply ignore them and maybe you will be granted transcendence to reality. My own head has me waiting around for gifts of knowledge and truth. These words before you have a taste of evil to them. And still I remain a slave to their manifestations of false hope.

Have you ever tried or considered meditation? Vipassana meditation specifically focuses on quieting the mind while retaining full awareness, so as to untangle ourselves from our thoughts and gain transcendence to reality. I can't personally speak for the results (I just started with it myself, like, yesterday... if nothing else, it's incredibly relaxing) but the fact that it's been around for thousands of years has to give it some credibility.

I know about it. Thanks and keep practicing. Like everything else, it takes practice. Day by day I practice separating myself from my thoughts. Simply recognizing "defeat" is enough to ease my head if you will. I noticed that I have been "recovering" gradually," it's something. I've terrible pressure on the back of my head right now. Sorry about all this.
