Major problem
Hey guys,
Im into my second week on a hydro system and i am having a problem with the plants.
Yellowing of the leaves on the tips and on some it looks like a nut burn through the entire leaf. This has just happened in the last few days.
I am running a ph of around 6 which has been fluctuating .2 either way.
I was running a EC of 1.3 but have since done a dump and its sitting at 1.1 now.
Attached is a copy of pics
I have noticed on 3 of them that there is a bit of what looks like algue around the bottom of the stalk and into the rockwool.
Any help will be much appreciated.growman Reviewed by growman on . Major problem Hey guys, Im into my second week on a hydro system and i am having a problem with the plants. How close is the light? How big is the light? How how is it getting in there (right next to the plants)?

Major problem
It almost looks like nute burn - but It could be a heat issue as well. There are also some spots that look like mold. You might have more than one problem there. If you post pics taken under a flouro instead of HPS its easier to diagnose. Also - please post temps, light size and distance..etc. These problems can usually be figured out.

Ok, the light is 400 HPS. I have it at about 250mm away from plants. The 2 plants that are actually mainly affected are 300mm away. Temp in the room is roughly 23 deg. Fan is on the light to keep cool.
The water temp is 23 deg.
EC is exactly 1.2
Just before this happened i was feeding for 15 minutes once an hour and not feeding at night.
I have since moved feeding to 15 minutes every 4 hours now.
I dumped the water yesterday as originally it was reading an EC of 1.4 and i had Silikamajic Silica in the mix.
Should i dump the water again and run no nutrients at all for a week??
I had the water feeder of each plant going directly onto the rockwool but have now moved them all slightly away so only the root area will get feed.
I will take some photos now of set etc
