Sorry but yes JackHerer. We use it all the time but in this application we flood the room. C02 is heavier than air and can fill a room and sufficate you just as bad as carbon monoxide. We have had many warnings about using it in a people living area. We must watch heavy gasses closely. I had at one time N20, nitrous oxide which is a heavy gas too. 3 friend opened the tank in a bath room and I barely got back in time to save thier lives. Just a heads up, NO SLAM. Loc Nar - You are right about this. CO2 could potentially displace the air and one could suffocate.

Chances of it happening are maybe a gazillion to one, but if the gazillionth time comes up on your turn, you're fucking dead. So why take the chance.

Someone mentioned carbon monoxide - CO will poison you. It gets in your blood and doesn't get out easily and while in your blood displaces the oxygen.

What Loc Nar is talking about is displacing all of the air in the room with CO2, so that the air you are breathing contains no free oxygen. This would be similar to putting a plastic bag over your head - after a while you run out of oxygen and suffocate.
