of course ive heard of him, im not a rhcp "fan" that only likes like californication and dani california. i really like their music, but i do kinda feel like they sold out in a way because they used to be underground playing at clubs and stuff, but whatever i guess you cant blame them.

Oh yeah, the 3 albums they did with Hillel and Mother's Milk were great. I liked Blood Sugar Sex Magik, but not as much as Mother's Milk. I have ultimate respect for Hillel, he's the one who taught Flea to play bass, Flea was a trumpet guy. Hillel was the one who talked Anthony into getting up on stage and rapping their first song. Without Hillel, there would be no RHCP.

I'm amazed more people haven't mentioned Ry Cooder , the duel between Steve and Ry from the movie Crossroads (not the Shitney Spears movie of the same name) is a work of brilliance.

There is another up-and-comer, a eccentric guitarist from Spain, named David Valdes. Most people haven't heard of him, but he's been around for a while, and is just now going solo.

Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen, they're all excellent players in their own rights. But, in terms of virtuosity and sheer brilliance on the fretboard, none of them compare to Joe Satch!
