OK What the hell is this

Anyone who wants to work here who aint a citizen should at least get a green card so that they are legal. On a larger note though i think if we want to stop illegal immigration we should help mexico become a wealthier country with better jobs for its people so that they dont migrate here.

As I see it, a few protestors become rowdy agressive assholes, put the cops in a panicked, backed-into-a-corner, insinctive survival mindset, and the whole crowd pays the price for the actions of a few assholes. It's not right for the cops to brutalize people, but then it's not right for a bear to tear apart a guy that accidentally walked into it's lair.... just try telling the bear that.

During the last few weeks I have been reading about dianetics and the Power of Attraction, quite interesting stuff to say the least, but protests was one thing that was mentioned. P.O.A works in a simple way...you release and think negative thoughts, you get negative back, and these protests, are not postive, they are negative and create hate, thus, the retaliation resulting in violence. If these protests were instead fueled by positivity, and instead if being "anti" this and "anti" that, they should try acting "pro" this, "pro" that, having a positive protest, not negative.

Anyways, my mind has been expanding a lot lately. There is a simple reason why things like this happen.

you all realize that if we all banded together we would outnumber the police? they cant take us all out, we could riot and all that good stuff.. well not good but just saying they only over power us through fear.

if we banded together we could overthrow the cops they arent that powerful they just think they are. granted they could call in the army and the higher ups but hell id be outta there when that happened lol.

do any of you remember the riots surrounding the rodney king verdict? can the cops be blamed for wanting to put a stop to things before they got out of hand? once violence is started it can escalate very quickly into a riot, where the damage can be a lot more serious than a few bruises and skinned knees.

rocks and bottles were thrown, the cops responded with nonlethal force, warnings were announced from helicopters, and that should have been any sensible persons cue to split.

I understand what you're all saying. You're making very good points. Illegal Immigration is illegal and needs to be dealt with, the cops have to face with many negative-protestors hassling them, and other such things.

But this isn't some cops beating a few protestors. This is the cops beating the media. How does the media cause the police to act afraid? It doesn't, it seems more like here the cops don't want any form of checks (ie, word spreading and them getting in trouble) about what they're doing. Which I'm not very savvy to.

Violence, even defensive violence, has gone too far... The cops were beating on people who were already down- not really a threat if you're curled in a fetal position...

if you were standing in front of a charging rhino would you expect your press credentials to keep you safe? the press has no special dispensation. when the party's over you get the hell out of the way or you get pushed out of the way. there is no doubt that some of the officers involved were a bit overzealous in their duties, but these are not machines.

at the end of the day-
there was no massacre, there was no riot
and there were more bruised egos than broken bones.
in my world that's a good day, but then i live in the real world.

It's complete bullshit. If anyone here has been to one of the may day rallies you'd know this. Those few people provoking the police I think were saying stuff about keeping our freedoms. Sure these people are here illegal but i'm sure none of you have faced the poverty they face. The economy is just so much better here, it's easier for them to kep their families alive. BTW I may be a little bias, I have a few illegal immigrant relatives...
