Hi
Has anyone used the warranty on a new ballast ( h.i.d ) grow lights ?
My 1000W grow light stop working !!!!....and I`m in the 5th week of flower....and the light is bran new
and it`s not the bulb

I would try like hell to get the warranty. But you need help fast. Go to an elactrical supply store. One all the electrians go to not some home place. They sell ballast repair kits. You probably just blew a capasitor. The kits aren't too bad in price but have everything you need to replace all the part in yours. Make sure you tell them it's an HPS ballast. Unplug and open the box. If you don't see a burned part just replace them one at a time. It won't take long and you will be suprised at how easy it is to build one. I keep one around at all times just in case. It even comes with a regular bulb. When they took my stuff they didn't know what it was so they left it for me. Hurry to the store if you didn't get your light local.

Well I got the ballast online I spoke to the guy at the store I got it from today and he is going to send a new ballast out today but the shipping is going to be 3 business day`s !
Will my plant`s be ok for 5 day`s whit no light`s ? ? ?....I can probably get some cfl`s to place in the grow room if I have to !

I usualy find out the center tab of the mogel fixture is overheated by a loose bulb I would suggest you buy an new bulb, if its not that you always have a spare bulb. I have replaced a few hundred bulbs and they last a real long time.
1 the base of the mogel is replaceable
2 make sure that all the electrical conection are tight WITH THE POWER OFF
3 make sure the ballast to the bulb cord does not exceed 15 feet
4 make sure the plug into the wall is not burnt or bad fitting.
still have a 30 year old ballast going strong

keep your nuts tight, and do it with out shorts

i used a warranty and got one in 6 days 2 went hermie tho and i believe it was from thhat

well i got 4x 150W cfl + 2x 60W cfl

cfls dont work well i had bad results 2 times and more than expected results with H.I.D.....imo

Yes I agree the 6 cfl I got is a total of 680 w or so....and it don`t come close to the 1000w H.I.D
I hope it dose not fork up my grow
I spent to much time getting the plant`s looking nice big and full of bud`s
but 5 day`s whit no light can`t be good so the cfl`s will have to do for now....\
Can`t wait to get my H.P.S back maybe Monday

if you keep the heat down and air moving they should be fine just don't over water and yes some may turn a lime green but on the whole they should be fine.

If you have A/C you can turn the temp down into the 50's and that will slow everything down until you get your light fixed.
