    Breakouts

Well I had everything under control for a fairly long time using benzol peroxide and daily face wash.

anyways i went a weekend without the daily clean routine and I am paying for it now. I am sweating all day cause of work and I've got 6 bad breakouts. Ugh it's been so long, but now that i'm sweating all day 5 days a week I need to up my regiment.

    Anybody got some advice?

When I'm drinking plenty of water, I find my face is clearer. I'm 45 and very prone to breakouts. Oily, sun-tolerant skin has given me the gift of looking a lot younger than I am, but I'll probably still be battling breakouts till I'm 85.

I try and drink a minimum of two liters of water a day, and I use that Proactiv solution stuff, which works for me. It's just fancy benzoyl peroxide cleanser, lotion and an astringent. If I use that religiously, my face stays clear. You could go to a dermatologist and get put on one of those dermatological antibiotics, but I hate that idea personally because it's not good for folks to be on antibiotics for a long period of time and because most of those meds also cause some sun-sensitivity. But that's always an option if it's real bad. A lot of people will tell you that diet plays a role, but no one in the medical field believes that. Hormones and surface oil and dirt work together to cause acne. And heat and sweating always make it worse for me. Try and get back to your benzoyl peroxide routine. That's the best stuff there is!

Good advice. I've got probably similiar skin to you (birdgirl) and I'm managing to keep my shit under control now with just a simple cleanser pad and making sure I wash my face A LOT. Just keep using whatever you use and just deal with the shit you got. Use it as a reminder.

I prefer an astringent made by Neutrogena called "Pore Refining Toner" to the stuff that comes in the Proactiv kit, which I think I might be allergic to. They have that Neutrogena toner in drug stores and sometimes in large groceries. The astringents that contain salicylic acid or aqua-glycolic acid (which is the ingredient in Proactiv that I think I'm allergic to) help keep the pores clean. Regular alcohol toners don't do much. That's what my dermatologist told me. The Neutrogena toner has salicylic acid in it.

Stay off the junk food (especially candy), lower your stress, eat yer veggies, drink yer water, and take 400IU Vitamin-E a day. That's my 2 cents.

You need a cleanser, a exfoliater, face lotion and eye lotion, oh and something with sacylic acid for in the shower  I also use oil blotter stuff and toner but thats just me.

I was thinking more along the lines of a skin care products salesperson!
