How can I make 'em stretch?!

Ok, so I know this might sound a bit counterintuitive.

I'm trying to clone an indica that likes to keep things close to the chest, if you know what I mean. The plants have lots of shoots, but all of them are less than a quarter inch of stem before the leaves. They look like green blobs. There's not enough stem to clone.

I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to make them stretch... I've topped a few of them with no result, LSTed some more with the same result, and reduced the light so you'd think they'd stretch towards the light. The other strains are all reaching out lovely... but not this damn thing. (Nepali Grizzly, btw)

Anybody have any ideas how to make the suckers stretch?

Ya, wish I could, but they're in a cabinet made out of a dressor and the lights are already mounted to the top of it. On the inside, I mean. Thanks for the input though... I guess oldfashioned time will have to do the trick, no shortcuts this time.

goats, if you can't raise the light, tie the plant down.
I've had that problem with a few strains, notably the MTF I got from Yeag, that has such tight internodes that no amount of abuse can cause the little fuckers to give me efficient clone slips. If you can't RAISE the light, how about decreasing its intensity? Stick a smaller light in there.

Thanks Stinky. Ya, I've tied some of them down and they're doing alright, it'll just take me longer to get some clones from them than the rest. I cut their light down too for a bit but I'm afraid of stunting growth... there's other strains in the same closet.

Regarding your tough MTF... I got Dr. Greenthumb's MTF which is going hogwild Sativa in my lil closet. Four-five times as tall as even the I/S crosses. But finicky as hell... almost lost one to magnesium deficiency before I clued in and now there's two Mg special cases... quick learning curve there though. Hopefully I get at least one girl out of the four I have right now.

Yeah I'm not sure about any of the stuff on the market that claims to be MTF.
The one I'm running is REAL Kenai moonshine, inbred line Alaskan hippie weed, direct from the source. It's a narsty tough little bitch that's hard to kill and gives a nice product and a good high.
I have to get the other beans going that BlueBear sent; it's a slightly different Alaskan hippie weed with a faster finishing time and slightly less tolerance for fuckups. I'll let you know how the phenos stack up on that one... give me a few months, eh? lol
