Question...kinda embaressing
Hey. I know this weird but I really have no idea what to do.
Well I'm 16 years old. And recently there was some blood in my Feces. I don't really know if this is a major problem. Should I consult a doctor? What could this be, if anything?
Thanks--

Question...kinda embaressing
Did you actually shit blood, or was there just some umm... streaking? If its just slight traces of blood, and it was particularly large logs, it could have just broken some blood vessels, thats fairly common, especially if your diet is lousy, or if you push too hard. Don't panic, but keep track of it. If it keeps happening, see a doctor.

Question...kinda embaressing
That can happen for various reasons, most of which are harmless causes like little tears (from straining) or a hemorrhoid. The blood that results when an older person has colon cancer doesn't look like bright red blood. It's darker and looks like coffee grounds. Bright red blood comes from lower down nearer the exit, which is why it doesn't have time to oxidize and turn dark. You're too young to have colon cancer, but you could have a little tear or fissue, some sort of ulceration, a hemorrhoid (which is basically a varicose vein there around the anus). If it continues, see your doctor. Also, watch what kind of toilet paper you're using and how hard you're wiping. That's a delicate area down there.

Try cutting out junk food, including fast food, altogether. If it still doesn't improve after a while, cut out wheat, meat, and dairy from your diet; only one at a time, so you can see which is causing the damage. Also, if you're under heavy chronic stress this can aggrivate it, maybe even cause it outright.

Question...kinda embaressing
Mr. D's right about diet playing a role, and one of our other members, Breukelen Advocaat, can tell you about gluten intolerance/celiac disease, which I believe I remember reading can cause ulcerations in severe cases. You'd typically also get gut pain/discomfort if that were happening. It also occurred to me that sometimes certain medicines can cause ulcerations, if that's what's happening to you (which you'd know if you were also having pain in your gut). Try watching what you're eating and also make sure you're getting enough fiber!

This isn't about cannabis. If you ever see blood from anywhere that isn't a shallow cut, immediatly go to the doctor. I was not that stupid at 16.
