    femenizing seeds Question

From what I understand, it depends on enviromental conditions, (stuff you control) and the strains susceptability to going hermie in the first place. (stuff you can't control)

I ain't no expert here but it seems to me GA or most other chemical methods is doing just that...stress. And I don't see how putting a bag over one branch would be choosing a plant prone to stress. No way. You don't know that. Using that method, you usually choose the most healthy plant. But anyway, to answer the quote. No. You are looking for a plant to fertilize itself to get the feminized seeds. And yes, you are more apt than normal to produce a hermied plant from seeds produced from a hermied plant.

    femenizing seeds Question

I have previously used GA for foliar feeding the plant with hormones, thus inducing the hermaphrodism, and it makes the plant really stretch. I have smoked the plant afterwards, with no apparent after effects or aftertaste that I could detect. (plant was well-flushed, tho)
I truly do not believe there would be enough GA in the plant to affect normal smokers, especially at the dilutions recommended, and do still use it to 'pop' stubborn seds.
    BUT
If I had hep-c (as I do) or if my wife had t-cell lymphoma (as my wife does) I would be caereful to note that this has not been proven to be safe, and would recommend reading this msds sheet, especially Section 5 - Fire fighting measures, as inhilation of the burned hormone is what is at issue here. https://fscimage.fishersci.com/msds/10405.htm.

I have previously scoured the internet looking for the horror stories of blindness, peoples hair falling out, or dicks falling off from smoking the stuff, and I found none.
I am not a botanist, nor a chemist, but personally...I think there is no way that GA is as bad as...sitting on the freeway during rush hour, smoking speed, or using those electric "scented candles".

Does here anyone have links to proof substantiating either side of the issue? Would sure be helpful, lol.

    femenizing seeds Question

Thanks Rusty. Weed can make people paranoid by itself without the chance of poisoning yourself. But like you said, proof is needed before anyone goes for it. But I have an idea. If anyone can tell me why it wouldn't work or maybe what to do different so it would, cool.
What if when you have a real good female (I'm doing some WW next, I hope so) when the plant finishes you cut off all the buds off except one. And instead of switching the lights back to reveg just let that left on bud hermi. And get your fem seeds from there. The only real draw-back, I see, is that the pollen produced is really prolific. You'd have to really wash down the cab, like with bleach, after harvesting, before your next grow, otherwise the next plants would get fertilized. Might this work? If not are there any changes to that idea that might make it work?
P.S. Anyone notice? 441 views. Lot of interest in this.

    femenizing seeds Question

Hi. I have not used any method before so my opinion may be flawed.

From an outside perspective, not knowing whats in GA etc....

The safest way would appear to be Over Ripen. I think this because there is no chemicals used and if the offspring were to carry the trait it would be harmless to your crop. Because the flowers would come only after the time you usually crop them (so no harm done).
I think Heat Stress would be the worst possible way to force them.
