I don't think it is like that at all. We are all well aware of the dangers of smoking. When you buy ciggs, you are paying for nicotine and death. We all know this.

When you pay a doctor, you are paying for 4 years of medical school and hope that their would be some assurance to quality of service. Hospitals suck. Most of them don't pay enough attention to what they are doing and simply don't care about their patients. It took my g/f's grand mother 3 trips to different doctors before they finally realized she had cancer. WTF?

If you pay for a service you should get what you are paying for. It's that simple in my opinion.

A British man who went on a wild spending spree after doctors said he only had a short time to live wants compensation because the diagnosis was wrong and he is now healthy -- but broke. He quit his job, sold or gave away nearly all his possessions, stopped paying his mortgage and spent his savings dining out and going on holiday.
