Well if you are talking about building up regular compost, I have posted this else where that proper effective composting is in the Carbon to Nitrogen ratio. 25:1, but more nitrogen is better than too little.this takes awhile to break down into humus and balance its pH. I have no experience with clones, but I have read that vercumulite is excellent for clones and seedlings, you may just want to use vercumulite and some peat moss for beginning clones.
