Orange Dude - You got fucked because someone cut the power cord off that fan. (If that were a factory pigtail coming off the motor, the wire ends would be stripped and tinned.) You can do whatever you want, but why fuck around with something you know nothing about, thereby creating a safety hazard.
Several people have explained pretty darn clearly how to hook-up the wires but you just don't seem to get it. There's no shame in that. You originally did the right thing by ordering the fan with the cord. The merchant screwed up, not you, so get the merchant to fix the mistake.
LOL - OM - While I was typing this, Skink was posting that great step-by-step with pictures of his. I never meant to insinuate you are too stupid to understand those directions..
