    Anxiety and Cannabis

    Does anyone else strugle with an anxiety disorter? Ive been smoking for over 2 years now and suddenly weed started making me panic every time i blaze now. The other day i took one hit which diddnt get me high but i then had to fight anxiety and panic attacks for 2 hours. And its really starting to make me depressed. I cant chill with friends anymore because all of my friends are a bunch of little bums who only care about getting fucked up. And dont care to chill with me unless im "bringing something to the table" aka unless ill match them on bud. Im probley gonna quit for a month or so and maby itll go away. But anyways does anyone else deal with this from time to time? This is really pissin me off too because sweet tooth just came into town and i just coped some but cant smoke it untill i get this shit under control.

    It may be the weed...do you drink coffee or any caffinated beverages? They might have something to do with your anxiety too, since anxiety and depression are side-effects of caffeine withdrawl..personally I feel alright the next day after smoking, I don't feel depressed or anything, i feel more like that after a lot of caffeine..actually come to think of it, ive been going through the damn caffeine anxiety all day today..which is why i'm not drinking any coffee or soda (i dont even drink soda at all to begin with) today.

    I know exactly what you're dealing with because i've dealt with it, the best way to go about it though is to just ignore it...letting yourself believe the pot is causing your problems is what's causing your problems....I have anxiety too but i've become pro at dealing with it lol..basically if you do anything that can possibly cause something bad, and you know it, your mind will try to trick you into believing whatever your afraid of...the good thing is you can conquer it if you just ignore it and breathe properly (breathing properly prevents panic attacks) .... your stomach should push outward on inhale and up and inward on exhale...practice that slowly and you'll be a.ok

    Maybe your smoking too much sativa, and need to start smoking more indica.I have anxiety and that is what i was told but mines is paranoia, and stuff like that without the weed.

    Smoke more indica, and try to relax. This happend to me a little while back but it went away. Good luck.

    Yea i know its not the bud thats doin it to me. I just get a little more paranoid when i blaze. I strugle with anxiety even when im not high. So the paranoia that comes with blazin really doesnt do me any good. Plus im in a constant state of depression right now and have been for almost a year now. And anxiety comes along with depression. Ive tried the breathing methods but right now im living in an area where my alegries are goin crazy and my nose i constantly stuffed up. And that doesnt help to much either. I think i might just take it easy for a little bit untill im in a better state of health. Both physically and mentally. But weed is defently not the problem and never was. It was my own choices that put me into this state, not weed.

    Damn, it sounds like you're about exactly where I was a year ago...I'd say start lifting weights as well as run 10 mins a day atleast..including leg workouts (mention that cause most people don't and it's really good for your entire body, especially squats) ..also don't smoke if it makes you paranoid as shit..do it to relax, and always remember nothing bad can come of being high, you're always trippin if you think it can...normally panic attacks that stem from weed are because people get high, have some weird feeling, think somethings wrong with em that isn't, and if your prone to anxiety/panic disorder..the rest is history..adrenaline gets going and real things start happening(not that it's harmful, but noticeable so can freak an unknowledgeable person out) including fast heart rate, clammy skin, sweating, shortness of breath, etc.......


    It is also a good idea to switch the kind of weed you're smoking though, i've definitely found different strands of weed to effect me differently...and normally ones that make you more hyper (I once had some stuff called Green Crack lol..that was fun) are more likely to spark your anxiety....i'd try smoking some Grand Daddy Purple if you can get your hands on it, if it's good i've found that to be extremely relaxing...

    Just don't do anything too drastic, it's better to practice self control...

    I just recently transfered schools and started to live a very stressful life. Couple weeks ago I started feeling really weird and really out of it. Unable to think, dizzy spells, depersonalization, among many other symptoms. Went to several doctor's had CT scans of my brain and lungs and everything taken, doctor's found absolutely nothing. Went to a counselor here at my college and was diagnosed with anxiety disorder, hypochondria and fatigue. I'm doing a lot better now, but still feeling weird sometimes, but it's supposed to take months to get back to normal. I cope with my anxiety by taking walks whenever something stresses me out. Put on some dead and go for a walk. It will help. A well balanced diet has helped as well. Also have stopped smoking daily. Weed is supposed to enhance paranoia and anxiety. I've had bad panic attacks on weed several times. When it happens I'll just go to bed, put on some tunes and zone out.
