U don't top a plant a week before flowering. The point of topping is to let it grow into two stalks, then flower. Topping the plant, then flower as soon as its out of shock is pointless.

I am planning to force them into flowering in about a week and a half or so. Would now be the correct time to top them? I have never topped my last few crops.
