The other day I was searching through my grandmother's attic for some of the old family photo albums when I came across my uncle's trunk from his college years. I was curious as to what sort of memorabilia he might have stored so I picked the lock. It was a simple lock, and only took a couple of minutes with a bobby pin to get it open. I scored big time for my vinyl collection because all of his old Black Sabbath albums were in there. They were in great shape too. I also found an old lava lamp which I'm going to try to clean up and see if it works. Attic prospecting, you gotta love it. It made me happy because, yes these items are pretty cool, but also because my uncle died last year and it's nice to have little mementos of him like these. There was also a bonus item that gave me a pleasant surprise. At the bottom of the trunk, stuffed inside an old pair of Chuck Taylor All Star high top sneakers was a small jelly jar which contained weed! There wasn't much of it, about three or four fat joints worth of some very fluffy if somewhat brittle orangish-yellow bud. Along with the albums and lava lamp, I came home with my uncle's pot time capsule. So, now here I sit, listening to Ozzy sing "Sweet Leaf" while I toke on a bowl of some well aged weed. It doesn't have much flavor, but the aroma is quite nice. Musky, with spicy undertones. What taste it does have is similar to the scent. I am happily surprised to find it isn't harsh to smoke. This is my second bowl thus far. The high is slow, mellow, and creeping. It isn't a potent high, but nice and relaxing none the less. It's almost like getting to kick back and share a smoke with my uncle once again. Great, now I'm going to cry. Here's to you Uncle "G"! May there be fine smoke and no pain where ever your spirit might be!
