Great memories indeed S.W.E.D.420. It didn't have any mold that I could see, the bud and leaves (There was a fair amount of leaves which I picked out and strangely enough have saved. I just felt like it would be wrong to throw any of it away.) are simply orangish-yellow in color. If any of our smoking elders are reading this; Was this a common color of pot back in the day, or has it turned this color over time? Before I forget, I did contact my mother and she'll be bringing my camera back tomorrow evening. I'll post a pic by tomorrow night. I've decided that I'm going to take the stems and leaves that remain and grind them to a fine powder which I will then work into a block of polymer clay. Then I can sculpt some sort of memorial item, and oven fire it so that part of what I found can last pretty much forever. My uncle always had an affinity for big cats like panthers and such, so maybe I'll sculpt something like that. I can remember him taking me to the zoo when I was five, and we sat and ate ice cream while looking at the panther exhibit. Yeah, that would be a fitting memorial.

Your story gave me the chills, what a nice way to remember your uncle. And I also agree with Jesta, you should try to keep just a little bit as a keep sake or maybe even save it for your "pot time capsule". One day maybe your nieces and nephews will find it and say the same thing you are saying now.
How cool, for you to have been able to share in your uncles college days. Days before you were born. I couldn't imagine finding weed from 1976 that is before I was born, too. I can't believe the weed didn't just dissenigrate in the jar after all these years. WOW:S5: BE WHO YOU ARE AND SAY WHAT YOU FEEL, BECAUSE THOSE WHO MIND DON\'T MATTER, AND THOSE WHO MATTER DON\'T MIND! :S5:

It is super brittle and you have to be careful handling it. If I broke it up like regular every day bud it would crumble to powder. It was stored in a cool, dry, completely dark environment and remained totally undisturbed over the years. Otherwise, it probably wouldn't have survived. I'm really thankful for this experience. I was really hit hard when he died last year, because he was the relative I was the closest with. When I was a kid, he lived in the garage apartment behind my grandparents home so I spent a lot of time with him there.
He used to keep me sometimes when my parents wanted to go out at night, and he'd let me watch horror movies on his betamax till after midnight even when I was very young and play his Attari system. I can also remember the scent of marijuana and incense lingering in his apartment. Of course I didn't know what pot was then. I just thought he smoked funny smelling cigarettes. To this day, that aroma has a comforting effect on me. Probably because that scent accompanies all my happiest childhood memories.
He was always kind to me, and never seemed to mind having this chubby little girl (I looked a lot like a cabbage patch doll in those days.)tagging after him. Then again I was a very quiet unobtrusive child, so that might have made a difference. I can remember laying on a hideous day glow orange shag rug in front of his big console tv in his living room, drawing with crayons, while he and his friends sat around smoking, talking about art, music, or politics. I really miss him, and those days when happiness came so easily. Yes, I am very grateful to have found that trunk.
