The first thing you have to ask yourself is if you really want to quit. You NEED the motivation to quit, once you have that, then quitting really isn't that bad.

I quit a few years ago. I was a pack a day smoker for a number of years. I thought of the end rewards: No more depending and getting grumpy when I need a smoke, the money I will save, how better I will feel, how better I will smell, and no more paying the government to slowly kill me. Tobacco is 100% pointless and is downright disgusting.

I thought of the end payoff to quit. I didn't use gum, or a patch, I just threw them away for the last time and said fuck it. What's the point? I feel like shit, I smell like shit, and that extra $40-$50 a month would be nice to get something I actually want.

It did take me several times to do it though, but the last time, that was it. Cold turkey.
