garage growroom; coming together
ok, so the garage is begging to become a grow room; i live in socal, near the beach
i'll be having two rooms; probably about 4x4 x 6high or so; flowering under a 250w hps; veg room will have about 200w's of cfl or t5ho; the walls will be draped black and white poly
this is to be a medical grow; i will most likely have 3 plants flowering, a few mothers, and clones
i will be doing soil, completely organic
first question is this: what sort of exhaust fan would you suggest? i'm looking for something cheap, reliable, and reasonably quiet (not that important as garage is seperated from house)
what i'm envisioning is something like this: veg room and flower room are next to each other. both are a tent of white poly hanging from the ceiling; i will have oscillating fans in both rooms
now, i'm thinking that the veg room would have some ducting between it and the flower room, and then the one exhaust fan would be in the flower room; a 265cfm dayton blower is probably overkill, but nothing wrong with fresh air; but if there's a smaller blower i'd consider it; squirel cage seems like the best idea, especially because it won't let light in or out of the room
sorry, i'm digressing

garage growroom; coming together
anyway, something like that is the current thought; i know it's not a lot of light, and i can easily make the growrooms smaller if needed; if in time i become a caregiver (considering it), or i find i need a larger harvest, i will upgrade my lights, but i'm not a heavy smoker; i'm hoping to be able to get a quarter pound every harvest in time, but i don't expect to get that right off, and might never get that much out of these lights; i'll be experimenting with scrog, lst (can't do sog with limited plants with med grow), anyway
i thought i'd buy those zip-up tarp things from insidesun to open and close the rooms; pretty cool;
i also have a roll of mylar so i can put that around the plant-zones for a little more reflectivity if i want
the garage will be closed off, though it will be opened during the day; the ceiling is high and if i had to i could run ducting to the outside, but i think it's not necessary, and it would take a big fan to move the air way up to the ceiling and out (15ft up or so)
the one thing i need to be careful about is light leakage; the passive intake holes would be the prime issue here; i'll have to work some ducting or something to make sure that i don't get light into the flower room; then again, here's another good thing about this setup: i wouldn't need passive intakes in the flower room; just have them in the veg room, where it's not such a big deal if a little light gets on them at the wrong time, and have the flower room just suck the air from the veg; with a good squirel cage blower i'd think i'd have more than enough suction
i'd need to make sure that no light gets from the veg room to the flower; this would mean some curves in the ducting between them; but shouldn't be too much of an issue, ans the lights in the veg room will be below the ducting, and the ducting will curve downward
so i babble on; thoughts?
also, i'm looking for creative suggestions on how to make the grow inconspicuous; basically, the garage is in a row of garages and i must walk out, open garage, walk in, close garage, and do my gardening; i'm thinking i'd hang some fabric over that half of the garage, but that's not a great way to go; my neighbors are cool, and this is to be a legal grow, but still it's allways good to keep things on the down low
blah blah

build a wall in the middle, with a door; everything to the back of the garage is grow, that way you open the garage door, all people see is a small space with a door in it. much more secure than hanging things to create rooms.
