OK, couple questions..
Ok, so I have my plants about 2 weeks in... I'm going to take them out of there containers now and plant them directly into the ground...
So my questions are,
1. I have a clay type soil... Very good though from what I see though ( has lots of worms and buggies) Since clay doesn't drain well, I'm going to add something. Now my question is whether to mix perlite or vermiculite in with it. or both :P
2. Should I add any other type of ferts or nutes when I mix it all in?
Thanks :jointsmile:reality0 Reviewed by reality0 on . OK, couple questions.. Ok, so I have my plants about 2 weeks in... OK, couple questions..
Perlite is good for better drainage, which is what you want if you have clay. Vermiculite is for holding moisture, which is prolly not something you would be worried about with clay.
You should also add some peat moss or some other rich soil that will break up the clay and provide better drainage as well as give nutrients.
