I bought my second light at Organically grown. I was in an emergency situation as my very first light was a loaner from a friend, was an oooold 100w hps flood lamp or something and just didnt turn on one morning. My 1st run, poor little diseased, mite infested plants needed light asap! lol I was so foolish back then. I should have just threw them in the trash and called it a day until i could buy some real equipment. But I didnt, so I took my 260 bucks and rushed to the closest store, organically grown. After even letting those plants live, going to this place was my next mistake. Walking in I found the store very poorly light with what seemed to be a light patina of age on everything, kinda like an old library or your dead grandmothers house. I met the two brothers who were behind the register catalog surfing and explained my situation to them and told them what i was looking to spend. They proceeded to sell me a sunsystem 250w hps with a built in ballast for 230 bucks and then i forked out another 30 bucks because it didnt come with a bulb. They insisted this light was the way to go...I guess...for a dorm stealth grow. Now I fully agree that in some degree it is my responsibility to have some knowledge of what im doing but hell if I cant get good info from my local grassroots specialty store where else can i get it. The least these two could have done was tipped me in to the fact that i had to spend another 30 bucks for a flange kit. Anyway I just found the overall experience to be a bust. I wouldn't shop there again. I shop at good to grow now and I like it just fine. They have a large selection, the store is well lit and the staff is always at least average to well above average in the knowledge department, I have gotten a few good tips from those guys.

This is a old thread so I'm not going to back read to much. This place sucks, the staff are rude and read to talk you into products you don't need. I would not recommend them to my enemies!

The place is extremely expensive. Expect to pay about 10-30% more than other places like Good to Grow in Exeter or Wormsway in mass. About 50% more than online prices.

Staff is mediocre as far as horticultural knowledge. They seem more about selling you overpriced products than getting you what you really need. It seems most of their knowledge comes from product catalogs and the back of bottles.

I only go here for emergency pick-ups.
