ODORSOK CARBON FILTER
Hi i went for a new carbon filter and the hydro dude sold me on the odorsok it new and doesnt need to be replaced just pop it in the washing machine and reuse .Anyone else use this type filter.the postman.
Hydroponic Air Filters - How do they work?
Odor-Sok Air Filters are constructed using bundles of microscopic activated carbon filaments and fibres. By controlling fibre width to 20 nm, the kinetics (adsorption rate) of carbon cloth is similar to that of a single exposed carbon particle.
Air flows evenly across the carbon and with accelerated kinetics (up to ID-2400) and increased surface area, Odor-Sok Air Filters retain all the properties of deep filter bed canisters. Faster adsorption rates means smaller filter equipment and up to thirty times less carbon in use for the same result over a one year period.
That's how! Carbon filters, odorsok phat filter hydroponics
BSS ā?? Bag Support System
Smart thinking and clever use of materials under pin the Odor Sokā??s patented Bag Support System or BSS.This allows users to choose the direction of air-flow to suit their individual application.
The BSS system supports the bag from the inside and prevents the Odor Sok from collapsing as polluted air is sucked through the bag.
The bi-directional air-flow properties that BSS provides means more versatility, the smallest achievable packaging and the easiest assembly possible from a collapsible sub frame and any carbon filter to date

after reading the details on their website, I think your salesman was very mistaken, when he said you could 'drop it in the washing machine' ... knowing that carbon particles are going to either 'wash-out', or dissolve, I looked for an explanation ... the only reference, is that it may be 'gently tumbled-dry' if wet from humidity absorption ... NOT washable, in my opinion, but maybe you can e-mail the manufacturer, and ask them before ordering ... :smokin:

I use it and have no complaints.
Seems to be no odour out of the vents so it must be doing what it said it would.
Saved money (approx 60$) by purchasing the sock instead of a standard scubber.
I have yet to do any washing however I would think that you couldn't wash it in the machine. Checking manufacturers site is a good idea.

ODORSOK CARBON FILTER
I would suspect you could stretch it's useful life by setting it out in the sun, when possible, let it air-out a bit ... I used to have a bag of some sort of 'volcanic-rock odor-absorbers', and that's how you would 're-charge' them ... :smokin:
