Anyway from your description it does sound like a male, but that is a really crap description so if you post pics, It would be easier to help you.

If not (and this is the best idea) go to Google and search in images for male cannabis plants

then do a female cannabis plants search.

Oh yeha if it is a male, I would suggest not killing it, find a use for it lol.

I dried some male leafs out in betwean pages of books and then decorated my room, for example but then i took it all down once i planted a new plant, also you can use all the leafs and shit in cooking.
