    What does everyone think?

This is what I have going on. I'll be setting up a proper grow room this weekend. By proper I mean a closet cleaned out and lined with Mylar and sealed. I don't think temp is going to be a prob but I have a fan going on medium constanly and my place is very dry as far as humidity goes. The plant is about a month old and to me it seems very skinny for that age. Can anyone diagnos or offer suggestions? Could it still be a succesful plant?

Another question...how much electricity does a "ballast" use and more importantly what does it do? I'm going to get a metal halide lamp but I don't want to start paying out the cornhole for electricity. Could I just use a regular socket type light fixture? One that is rated for a high wattage.

oops, sorry...the ballast is needed for certain lamps like High Intensity Discharge lighting, including Low Pressure Sodium and Metal Halide lamps. They are very efficient, watt per lumen (electrical energy / light energy)

Thanks Shovelhandle...yea the first 2 weeks i just had it under a desk lamp and outdoors in the sun when I could watch it and that was only about 2-3 hours a day. Then I got a 120 watt incandescent grow light which i found out from others is crap, so today I got a couple of 26w CFLs. We'll see where that goes. I do have a metal halide buld already, I just need to get a ballast before I go plugging it in.:smokin:

I'm also starting to get a little jealous of what everyone elses plants are starting to look like after about a month...mine looks like the little kid on the street that gets his ass kicked everyday.
