though i usually attempt to avoid profanity, statements like this make me want to puke my fuckin' guts out all over somebody's pretty pink slippers. i've had it with this power of the vote shit. have any of you been paying attention? the political animals aren't even trying to hide their lies any more. broken promises, blatant corruption and a total disregard for the will of the people are what we have come to expect from our elected officials and we have yet to be disappointed. when the voice of the people is heard, it is quickly set aside by our beloved politicians should they see it as politically expedient.

many have given their lives for our freedoms, the very same freedoms our government insists on depriving us of every chance they get. no one in their right mind would willingly give up their life for the smoke and mirrors parlor trick that the popular vote has become. a vote based on the deceptions spewed along the campaign trail is worse than useless, it is an affirmation of the pitiful charade that our system has become. it is an insult to those who have died for the cause of true freedom.

go ahead and toss away your votes on the lesser of the available evils. go ahead play the game where the outcome is always the same, but don't you dare to look down on those of us who won't be fooled by such childish illusions. your vote is almost as harmless as it is useless, but once you start mouthing off with such tired cliches as the one above you become the enemy of one of our most basic freedoms and an enemy of those who fight to keep freedom alive.

so i reiterate, fuck this kind of shit. go ahead, vote your way to slavery and ignore the useless opinions of those who have chosen a different road. your attention is not required, there are many others who's minds are not quite so closed.

^^ our basic freedom IS to be able to vote, were lucky enough to have that sort of freedom. There are countries all over the place that don't even HAVE that freedom. If you don't vote then don't thats your freedom too. But by not doing anything and just saying that you want a revolution is just as stupid. Your vote DOES matter.

I've voted in every election since I turned 18. I find it really sad how little of the population actually votes.

Same here. People think all these elections have been almost split 50/50 between voters. People winning by less then a thousand votes, etc. But when you look at the overall voter turnout, only 50%~ of all registered voters actually go vote. So in reality only half are split 50/50. Imagine if another party came in and took that other 50%. Would certainly blow away the 25% both Dems and Repubs are really getting. And may even take votes away from those 2 parties.

People you need to vote for who you want and not who people tell you to vote. If everyone who wanted to vote independent, green, libertarian did so then it would give the 2 main parties a run for there money. Instead everyone thinks "If I vote for X I'm throwing my vote away" so they don't vote for X, when in fact X could have won but voter mentality kept them from doing so.

In short, find someone who will appeal to the 50% who don't vote and you will have a 3rd party.
