    What am I to expect?

A few months back I came across 2 seeds from a bag of great pot. The kind of stuff I had smoked in Amsterdam. Maybe not the same strains, but as good in quality. I've grow pot a few times before...nothing to extravagant, always outdoors because I was living with my parents and couldn't devote much time to it, but this time I wanted to take my time a made sure I did everything right. So now I'm growing indoors. Very small setup...120 watt "grow lamp" and a 250 watt "heat lamp/infared" in a small cofined space lined with foil dull side out. The plants germinated really quickly, with one surviving to this day. The other seed was small and pale green almost white...I didn't expect much from it anyway. The one still going is about 5 inches tall with 4 sets of leaves and a fifth on the way. No more than 3 blades on each leaf...2 have four. I've done plenty of research and feel comfortable with what I'm doing, but I have a few questions I haven't found answers to.

1 - I've noticed a lot of plant pictures where the internode length is very short compared to mine. I understand this is due to better lighting. My concern is that this increased internode length that I have going on will reduce my yield, or slow growth. Is this true? And what can I do about it to correct it?

2 - When can I expect to have more blades on each leaf? The plants are about a month old.

3 - Will incandescent bulbs suffice? I know they are not the best for growing but I have very little space to hide this plant and even less money.

4 - Considering my light setup...does it hurt to move it outdoors for a couple of hours a day when I can watch out for people, then bring it back in? It seems to do the plant good, but I'm worried that I might be confusing it with great abundant sunlight for a few hours followed by 18 hours of weak light. It is getting 24 hours a day right now.

5 - Will Miracle Grow soil with a supposed "3 months of Fertilizer" be good enough? i.e. do I still need to fertilize?

6 - And lastly...I'm growing it in a pot that I believe is about 2 gallons in size. I already transplanted once to a bigger pot after starting and noticed the roots circling the bottom of the first pot...it was a small six inch pot. This pot is aout a foot deep and 10 inches across. Will this pot be big enough to sustain a decent yield?

I know it's a long post...maybe if I just posted some pictures, people could trouble shoot for me based on seeing my setup and the plant's condition. Wuld that help anybody out in helping me?

    1) Get some CFLs. I get them at Walmart for about $8 each for the big ones. The squished down cone-shaped ones are bluish and good for vegging. The column-shaped ones are warmer in color and better for budding.
    2) You should get more blades to the leaf soon. One of my plants went right from 3 blades to 7. Another went 1-3-3-5. Same age, different strains. Be patient.
    3) HELL NO! Those incandescents are why they are stretching so much! Go to Walmart and spend $20 on some CFLs! Skip buying a bag of pot this week and invest in your future stoniness!
    4) Do it! Some natural light is better than none! Plants have had millions of years growing under the sun- our electric lights are a poor substitute for the real thing (at least until you get into the higher ranges of HPS, etc)
    5) Miracle Grow is not that good for cannabis. Try running a search here on it. Don't skimp on soil- get some good stuff!
    6) Just barely! Personally, I grow 2 plants in each of my three 19 gallon "rubber maid"-type tubs (Walmart, $4). More room is better!

    Good luck- Granny:hippy:

Thanks Strom Crow...I went out and got a couple of CFLs today and though it is to early to tell the light abundance is a lot better and being able to put the light closer to the plant without burning it seems to me a plus. I'm going to be setting up a grow "chest" if you will this weekend with the proper setup because I believe what I have now is just not proper in any way what so ever. It's in the corner of my closet with the lights just hanging out above...no fan or reflective material.

put the lights closer to the plants especially if they are cfl a couple of inches away should work. and dont use the heat lamp at all. i looked at the post above this one, yours also. to tall and to skinny, id top it and put the lights closer, oh i already said that. on a plant that is spaced out like that the bud wont grow into a bud, you will get little buds at the nodes pretty much.sunlight is good.
    aint she pretty?
