bosses have other ways of retaliation... giving you the shittiest assignments, hardassing you (breathing down your neck), shorting your hours... etc etc.... firing isn't the only thing bosses do to workers they're not happy with ya know...

Very true...i doubt you'll get fired for taking the day off, but if you leave your work in the lurch then expect to get the shitty end of the stick for a while...

dog, i dont know where you work....you possibly mentioned where and i didnt catch it...idk...anyways but when a guy skips work at my job it hurts everything and people start hating on this individual.
btw i do construction so my job is already hard and when somebody isnt there it makes things way more difficult...almost like a three legged dog

Just be like "I'm sorry but taking care of my niece is more important to me than coming to work tomorrow" at the end. No fucker is gonna make you work if you say "______ died" and that you need to watch a young relative.

oh yeah, hold one nostril shut while on the phone (seriously, it will make a diffrence... if you do two, you risk sounding over elaborate... completely closing off one, is more then enough to simulate sinus problems (a more then common occurance among sicknesses...)

EDIT: GMM is on a SATURDAY, right? On weekends, about 80% of doc offices are closed- do the 24 hour food poisoning, maybe eat Italian or meat at lunch at work, then feign stomach problems during the rest of the shift, and then call in with food poisoning

I've said i had a cold before and i got to miss a couple days. I actually did faint at the doctors office which got me out of work aswell, for a day, so you could claim that happened. I highly doubt you'd get fired even if you just didn't turn up because they'd prob just give you a written warning or something. Call in, pretend to have a splitting headache and your stomach hurts, you can do it dude. Just say, this isn't me man, you know, i feel awful, sorry about this but i can't come in today.
