I Need a Crash Course In Meditation...
Asking for advice like this doesn't really seem right because I do think meditation is something I need to explore myself.. but I need some advice as how to get started on this journey.. How do I really relax, clear my thoughts properly.. and get to that place where i can contemplate on a higher level and priorotise things within my life...
every time i've tried so far I just get frustrated and start doubting the whole process.. but i guess im like that..
so can anyone give me some help starting off with this..

focus on your breathing. Its really hard to clear the mind of its all thoughts we process a lot of shit at once, so the best way to calm down is to try and focus on just breathing. Taking really deep breaths and then letting out slow. Try and get in to a rythm don't count it out or anything just try and keep and your breathing rythmic. OF course turning off the lights and or closing your eyes always as making sure your comfortable is important but i'm sure you've tried that allready.

I have little experience with meditation, but there's an old saying that eskimo's used to calm their children, omni-padme. I'm unsure of what it means, but saying slowly to yourself focusing on breathing is a good way to maintain a meditative state.

Ok first, NEVER under any circumstance talk about any spiritual experiences or meditation, or anything that has to do with what your doing spiritually. Doing that will cause anything you talked about to possibly be destroyed by ego. Not saying asking is bad, just for future reference.
Relaxation is a big part of meditation so try to become as relaxed as possible, would be the first step. Take very deep breaths for a couple minutes or however long you feel comfortable with doing it, Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. Cut off all thoughts before they finish and try to do it until you just dont have any thoughts. Like "I need to get somthing from the grocery...." "I need to get .... " "I need.." I..." "...."
My biggest problem is getting tired while doing it then going to sleep, doing it in the morning helps with that. After you wake up is the best time to do it because your mind isnt as clouded by stuff that happend during the day. Don't get scared of anything you feel physically like chest pain and stuff, because thats just spiritual things you have never paid attencion to.

Erowid Spirit Vaults : Meditation
that link should help you more than a brief post on the boards can.
Theres a lot of info on there and if you scroll down to 'off site resources' you can find links for different meditation techniques

I Need a Crash Course In Meditation...
Yesterday i had found a very good link about the Vipassana meditation, and spent a long time reading the text. It is very good, very simple, and direct.
So, today, i found this thread we are right now, and (thanks to my stoner memory) started to think it was here where i had seen the link... i started to wonder why that so good post had been deleted...
Then, i realized my stoner mistake, and found the right thread with the link.

I don't want to turn this into an advert, but anyone interested in meditation and how to use it with cannabis (whether you're a newbie or an existing meditator), could you PM me or drop me a line at [email protected] (NO spam!) I'd like to send you a PDF taster of a new book on it.

When I meditate, I let all my thoughts go through. Anything and everything. Thinking and thinking like crazy, like bubbles popping up. Slowly, I repeat a word without meaning.
