Fear an Loathing - Thompson Hunter

Duke is based on the author of the book, and apparently the whole book/movie is based on true events. Anyone want to clarify?

    Ps. Best movie, so good..:hippy:

How about the fact that his name's Hunter S. Thompson? I thought everbody knew that the book/film was kind of autobiographical...

    Lol, Thompson Hunter...

The characters are fictional, but the events are based on actual occurrences.

    Um, you're all wrong.

Its partly based on real people/events, but not all of it is true.

Yea its written in Hunter's own style of journalism...Gonzo...which blurs the line between fact and fiction.

Um, no. The characters are fictional, the events are based on real events and experiences. The characters are fictional because of the different names, but are based on real people. I have read many Hunter S. Thompson biographies and his autobiography, in which he states this.

I thought Thomson's alter ego was Raoul Duke, which would make at least that character "real" as in not fictional.

I fail to see how that makes everybody wrong. I'd go into my bedroom and have a look in his biography, but I'm far too lazy.
