Alright I am sure many of you people belong to other boards on the net. I happen to belong to A paranormal board called the shadowlands. www.theshadowlands.net Well anyway I reason I post there is many years ago when I was a preteen maybe 12 or so. I would fall asleep to wake to find myself in paraylsis I can not move or speak. It feels like there is something pushing me down restraining me. Its really freaky, They call this term "sleep Paraylsis" Its when your body is awake but your brian is asleep. But they happen so often I truly believe my room has 'something'. I can even sense an upcoming attack sometimes. Ill hear voices/laughter/buzzing noises sometimes. I have the feeling of floating or falling through my bed. Ill have some really odd dreams that I want to wake up from. Ill wake up and everything will feel SO real I cant stress the realism here, but its just another dream. AH whatever maybe I am nuts. Anyone else here have any ghostly encounters

Yeah, sleep paralysis seems scary, I'm glad it's never happened to me. Every single "alien abductee" ever to be studied in a harvard psychology thingy were determined to have sleep paralysis. The experience is so vivid and real that they actually beleive they encountered aliens. A bit sad, too bad there's no cure.

XTC, you should look into the links I posted below
When I was a kid (and sometimes even now) I used to be able to leave my body and float around the room or house - everything feels real, but somehow enhanced. I would float up into the corner of my room and look down at myself, lying there in my bed. I would also get a sense that I was huge, or sometimes a sense that I was tiny.
My 'dreams' would be very vivid (like you say), and would 'feel' things that were happening to me - like, this one time, I dreamt that I was a pirate, and got run through with a cutlass (lol)...I felt the blade of the cutlass bouncing against my ribs and stuff as it passed through my body!
Another time, I got stung by a wasp - I felt it like it was real, and was convinced that that was what it felt like to be stung...even though I had never been stung before.
Some years later, I actually DID get stung by a wasp, and was instantly reminded of my childhood dream....and it felt EXACTLY the same
The human brain is a very mysterious thing, dudes, and (I believe) is capable of much much more than we give it credit for. 'Illumination' (IMO) is just another tool that we have forgot how to use.
Some people believe that babies are born with all those 'lost powers' intact...it is just the upbringing that kinda 'unlearns' us how to use them - if you know what I meanlol

thanks Res. Useful reading you gave me Thanks. The people on the board I mention, thought I had a OBE becasue One In the OBE or dream whatever I got out of bed and went to the door, but when I reached for the door I simply went through the door into my hallway. I freaked out and felt something zap me back to my room/body whatever, well almost the same thing happened agian, by this time I forced myself to wake up. The people on shadowlands said since I am inexperienced to OBE I couldnt really control it the way it ought to be controlled.

haha..yeah man, it can be a bit freaky when it happens for the first time - a confusion between your brain and your mind; Your mind can see and feel everything that you are doing, but your brain says that it can't be possible - hence the 'snap back to reality', kinda thing.
Like I said earlier, we are told that some things aren't possible, and soon we begin to believe it...thus forgetting how we did it in the first place.
I remember the stuff I used to do as a kid like it was yesterday...but I guess that my adult brain tells my adult mind that those things cant be done - whether I want to believe it or not...because all of this stuff happens at a subconscience level.
If you can be aware of your subconscience at a conscious level, then you really have something to work with. I can still tap into some parts of those 'lost powers' (perceptiveness, NLP), but I guess that it is something that has to be nurtured and practised on a daily basis from a very early age.
I have met people in my life before, and they have told me that I have certain power - even though I have never met them before - it sounds wierd, but they say that I have 'the gift'...
...I dunno....maybe they are more stoned than me lol
Anyways, don't worry about the vase, eh?

Wow and I thought I was the only one!
I very regularly have all the experiences that you talk about XTC. These usually happen to me in the morning and the only way I can really explain it is that it's like a tv in my mind. If I try I can sometime's imagine myself standing on the outside looking into my own subconscience. I never really thought that it was anything paranormal though I just think I'm going schizo lol.
I think what Res was saying about being able to exit his physical body is known in the paranormal as a doppleganger. Have you ever tried to project your self to a place outside your own home?

lol, Aps, no man, you're not alone..."We're all mad here," said the Hatter
(Oh, interconnectivity...lol)
Yeah, I could 'project' myself beyong the confines of my house (back then), but seemed slightly more difficult...
I also have vivid dreams of possible future events (even now), and attribute the many instances of 'deja vu' to the dreams that I've had in the past.
Like, I can almost second-guess what people are going to say, before they say it...if my buddy and I are rallying (PS2stylee), I utter exactly the same comment as he does - like I am reading his mind. I get that alot - am I projecting my thoughts into his head, or am I reading his unuttered thoughts? Hmmm
Curiouser and curiouser...
A really cool thing is that I can usually do quite well in arguments, as I can second guess the response of my 'combatant' and have a worthy retort already lined-up
Maybe that's why I can learn stuff really quickly...I can submerge myself into a state of neural-compatibilty with the person (or text, or whatever) that I am learning from?
Of course, there is a down-side to this 'gift' (lmaoo)..I find that I cannot read a book, or watch a movie without knowing (guessing) the out-come..I always (99.9%) know how the movie/book is going to end, and it becomes a situation where I watch the rest of the movie to check that I am right
It doesn't work for gambling, though....
Although, I did have a 'dream' once that I went to a casino and won loads of cash, because I knew what numbers were coming up in the roulette wheel. I got up, went into town to the casino, and did walk away with £750, after only placing £1 intially (won and lost, but overall won!)
And, how the heck did you get a TV in your mind, Aps?
Is it like, a really small TV, or a big-ass 69" Plasma jobbie, with 7.1 Dolby surround?

Well the reason I think its due to paranormal activity because well my room has had always a feeling of well you know something is there. I get frequent cold spots come across me when there are no windows or doors open. I always see things just out of the corner of my eye. Once I heard a woman's voice wishper my name. Before I moved in my room it was my brother's room and he even said he felt something was there. I remember one time I was falling asleep in the living room and bolted in and looked like he just saw a ghost, he said the closet door was banging and voices were calling his name. Well nothing that freaky has yet happened to me and if it did I would be looking for a new place to live.
