Weed = Coolness?

Before I started smoking I had basically no social life to speak of. Once I started smoking and people started finding out that I did so, I started getting invited to parties and concerts and shit all the fucking time. I have to say that starting to smoke was the single best decision I've made. When I smoke I have the "I'm going to do what I want, if you don't like it, too fucking bad." mentality and apparently I'm sweet as shit when I'm myself. I don't really know if that had a point I'm a little hung over from last night so I'm not thinking very well. Anyways, time for school so I'll see you guys later.

I think it can make you popular in the sense that it can bring people who might not normally hang out together like it did with you and the guy in your class. Think about it this way, when you find out someone smokes you think oh thats cool, because you have something in common. We're attracted to people we have things in common with. Pot might make you more popular to other people who smoke, but it could make you less popular with people who dont. As long as you dont smoke because you think it will make you popular than its all good.

Alright so my fifth hour class is this elective called music in the humanities. Basically we just take notes and study music throughout the ages. Its really a blowoff class and an easy one too. Anyways its in this part of the school thats sort of like an empty space i guess. Its hard to explain. Basically its a an open room where the choir practices and sometimes the school has small dinners and banquets there occasionally. Also there is a sliding door at the far end of the room that opens up onto a nice deck with plants and a bench.

So today in class, this group was giving a presentation of music during the 1960s. Their presentation was over really fast and we had nothing to do. So we had a study hall for the last 25 minutes of class. Since it was such a nice day our music teacher decided to unlock the door to the deck if anyone wanted to go outside and enjoy the weather or just chill out there. So me and a few friends from class go out there on the deck and start playing hackey sack. After about 10 minutes we realize it would be easy as hell to smoke and get away with it because we could have one person hitting the bowl while the rest of us played hackey sack by the door and kept a lookout for the teacher. Long story short me and a few of the guys smoke up outside although i really didnt smoke that much. Just enough to get a little high. One of the guys i smoked with would be considered popular i guess. He goes to all the parties and has tons of friends and stuff. So anyways after lunch and stuff and throughout the rest of the day people keep comin up to me and givin me high fives and fist pounds and stuff and tellin me how cool that was.

So what do you guys think? Does weed make one cooler or more hip?

Perhaps the cannabis itself posseses no 'coolness' and it is humans who give it this title through our conceptions and language.

I seemed to have alot more friends once I started smoking weed. Then again, I also believe that weed opened me up alot more to make friends.

IMO you guys bonded over the "breaking of the rules" not the weed per say.

exactly, also hanging out with popular kids just makes people think they should pay attention to you too. Ive completely defied being classified in my school and hang out with just about every clique. When I start spending a little more time with a popular that starts to happen, random high-fives etc. People are weird
