I believe that slightly dropping temps (no lower than 70 day 65 night) can give you a couple extra days as the plant's metabolism slows... BUT I do not recommend fucking with that because if you have ANY soil pH problems, lowering the temps will wreak havoc with your plants' ability to uptake nutrients.
Allowing your plants to go overripe by a week isn't the end of the world; you will get a stonier buzz out of it, and by 2 weeks overripe you might see a bunch of male flowers, but if you are not running a perpetual crop, this isn't a problem so much.
Personally I'd only go an extra week.
You still have to check visually for ripeness!
