Yikes... I've heard of this sort of thing happening.
Very very sad and frightening.

on a regular basis. It can take 6 months post infection for your test to show up positive. If you get a yearly physical it wouldn't be a bad idea to get tested once a year (or more often if you engage in risky activities). Even if its not HIV other STDs can kill or make you sterile if you don't get them treated.
