    watering question

Ok so last grow i mixed my ferts in these 1 gallon jugs and watered by hand to my 20 plants. Now that got very tedious and a serious pain in the ass mixing it all up 1 gallon at a time. Anyway, on the next grow i plan on using a resevoir. I would like to use say a 30 gallon resevoir with a water pump with a hose attachment to water the plants. I went looking on the net for pumps and it doesn't appear that a hose will attach. Are there special connectors or something so that i could directly connect the hose and water straight from the resevoir? I called one of the companies and the rep started talking hydro to me which isn't what i want to do (i'm a lazy grower and don't want to check my pH 3 times a day Thanks!

Try a 500 GPH bilge pump and bilge tube available from any marine store or catolog like bass pro shops. Sit the pump in the bottom of the tank and you have in effect a garden hose. Can hook up to a 12 V battery and get a cheap charger or you can get a little box thing that you plug in to 120 AC with 12 V DC output. (elctronic supplyer)

Also to speed up watering in soil grows add a layer of pea gravel, sand and DE mixed together to the top 1-1.5" of the container surface. You can then pour the water real fast without having it disturb the surface and dig a hole. When your watering several plants at once, it can save a lot of time. The addition of the DE will kill the soil insects.
