My smokebuddy and I: at musical war!

My friends, a serious problem is plaguing our smoking circle.

One of my homegirls and I- one of my closest smokebuddies- can NEVER agree on what to listen to! Seriously; with the exception of Sublime and Outkast, we cannot agree on smokin' music.

She mainly enjoys typical stoner fare: Southern Hip-Hop, Ska/Reggae, Classic Rock, and lots and lots of Sublime.

I enjoy an extremely eclectic mix: Gothic Rock, Industrial, Darkwave, Black Metal, Arabic/Turkish Pop, Classical, Gregorian Chant, New Wave, Synthpop, and very underground, experimental hip-hop. She loooathes my choice of music, or at least does not enjoy the genre while high.

How can we find common ground y'all, but with plenty of variety?!

Just listen to one persons music and then switch after awhile and listen to the other persons music, no matter if you liek it or not just deal with it, this kind of thing is going to happened when your around other people and you might not like the music there playing but you gotta deal with it, and you dont want to listen to your Ipod or what have you that makes you seem like a dick you know.

Or institute a rule of 'She who rolls the joint/packs the bowl gets to pick the tunes'

When my daughter and her friends get into arguments over stuff I bust out a timer and they each get 30 minutes to call the shots.

OR, if you enjoy the stuff she listens to as well as your eclectic tastes, then just listen to what she picks since you know she doesn't appreciate your music. Then enjoy your stuff when she leaves; I've found its hard to really enjoy music when you are the only one in the room who can stomach it

Those are great ideas; however, I have tried the alternating stuff, and she is so stubborn that she always interrupts me halfway through my time. The last time we tried alternating, this happened:

"Severiiiiiin, this music sucks, can't we put on something chill?"

"Well, we did agree to alternating stuff..."

"I knoooow~ but this is totally killing my high... PUT ON SOME OUTKAST!!!"

"BLARRGH You ALWAYS ask for Outkast or Sublime!"

"Yeah, but they're so chill!"

"Well, yeah, I enjoy them too, but I'm sick of listening to them over and over again..."

(smoke some more, forget what we were arguing about)


Any ideas?
