Darn tree trunks and the po
In my paramedic days, we always cleaned and irrigated wounds like that with a half-and-half mix of hydrogen peroxide and normal saline, but if you use saline, you really need to get it at the drugstore instead of trying to mix it yourself so you get the proper isotonic balance. You can also clean and irrigate or soak it in a Betadine (iodine)-warm water solution. Apply Neosporin or Polysporin after cleaning and drying it and before you cover it with a gauze dressing of some kind. It actually need to be allowed to dry out rather than be kept constantly moist, which is what gauze allows for, so the wound will resist infection. A constantly moist wound is more vulnerable to infection.

Darn tree trunks and the po Well last night me and some friends were chillin drinkin smokin just having a good time when all of the sudden the 5-0 came. as we were all running i tripped on like a tree trunk and i cut my hands pretty bad, so i was wondering what should i do to keep them as clean as possible without me have to worry about it, iv already done proxide and polysporen and wrapped it up but i was wondering if there was anything else? here are some pics (note: these were taken last night before i cleaned them.)
