They're shorter because you have your light down.....that doesn't mean it is too close....it means they like where you have it as long as you are not seeing signs of burn.

Sounds to me like Duke has your back on the leaf pattern thing....you should find out your ph for sure.

And now my own question....is giving them ferts every day a good thing? I really don't know.

They are in 8" 2 gal, organic soil/perlite mix pots, and I am feeding them DYNA-GROW 7-9-5 every day. I also gave them one dose of fish emulsion thus far. The plants are about 6-7" tall and are VERY wide with monster size fan leafs, plants are about 18" from the tips of the largest fan leafs from tip to tip.
