Anything you say can be held against you as volenteered info before you are read your rights. Do not volunteer info. Cops are tought to lie to get you to say anything. You can not be held responsible for any lie till you are read your maranda rights. You can say your from mars till rights are read to you. I have just learned a great deal about how it works here on the eastcoast.. All a cop has to say is he smells pot or beer and he has the right to search your car or home without a warrant. He ( cops ) are tought to lie about that in order to search now and not wait for a warrant. This info is straight from my lawyer and an ex narc officer.
